As summer approaches, don’t delay in discovering the many wonderful activities available for children in the area! There are so many options that it may be hard to pick just one. Summer camps do fill up quickly, so get registered soon! Summer camps are a terrific way to keep children active while gaining enrichment through exploration.

Clayton:

• Clayton Parks and Rec is already registering participants for 2023 Camp Clayton which runs weekly from June 12th to August 14th. A traditional day camp, Camp Clayton is open to 1st through 5th graders. The Town of Clayton also offers numerous specialty camps, such as the Dance, Science, or Little Veterinarian camps.
• Camp Explorer, part of the Triangle YMCA umbrella also calls Clayton home. Campers will spend the day swimming, creating crafts, playing gaga ball, and more! Registration for weekly sessions is open now.
• For something less traditional, try Revolution Self-Defense’s summer camp. With a focus on martial arts, campers are guaranteed to be on the move every day as they learn new skills with new friends.

Lillington:

• As with all towns making up Harnett County, Lillington hosts summer camps for children between the ages of 5 and 13. Campers are welcome for a traditional daytime experience from June 12th to August 18th. Registration details can be found at Lillington, NC.
• Have a thrill seeker in your home? Coble Water Ski and Wakeboard Camp can quench the need for a unique adventure! With 10 private lakes tucked into this worldwide recognized facility, Coble offers both waterski and wakeboard camps from May to October.
• Cape Fear Adventure Youth Camps also taps into Lillington’s abundance of water sports with kayaking, paddle boarding, and educational sessions on outdoor survival skills. Camps run from June to August, weekly, and discounts are available for multiple siblings.

Raleigh:

• Raleigh Parks and Rec has over 100 camps available - something for every age and every interest. From Little Chefs to Robotics to the Wonders of Wizardry, it will be impossible not to find a great option for summer fun. And, with camps spread across over 30 locations, there is bound to be one convenient for everyone.
• At New Life Camp, kids can opt for daytime-only or overnight camps throughout the summer. This ministry-based camp has been thriving since 1950 with a focus on acceptance, adventure, and belonging. The New Life camps do fill up fast and registration happening now!
• Museums across Raleigh welcome children all summer long for a variety of summer camps that put imaginations to work. The NC Museum of Natural Sciences camps explore the science behind what we eat, study the weird and wonderful, dive deep into oceanology, and more. Camp Marbles, of the Marbles Kids Museum, is a community favorite focused on creative fun. Silly Science and Fizz, Kerplunk, Pow! are just two of several unique camps that touch on the fun of STEM learning.
• Schoolhouse of Wonder has multiple Triangle area locations and has a money-back guarantee. This outdoor-focused camp promises to send children home “tired, dirty, and happy” after a day of outdoor exploration that includes hiking, storytelling, and environmental stewardship.

Wake Forest:

• Camps offered by Wake Forest Parks and Rec are filling up quickly! Day camps for all ages are available throughout the summer but it may be hard to pick just one. Aerospace, Art, and Mandalorian Training are among those camps still available but sign up quickly as spots won’t last!
• Code Ninjas’ Wake Forest location is exciting to welcome campers to a summer of digital learning. From coding to movie making to Roblox, these camps are perfect for those that prefer an indoor experience.
• Camp Chillin is back at Polar Ice, a cool way to spend the hot summer days. Perfect a slap shot or learn a toe loop during one of eleven themed weeks. Polar Ice summer camps are limited to children ages 5 to 12.
• The YMCA’s Camp Kanata has day and overnight camps throughout the summer and weekend camps for fall. This 150-acre facility often lands on top of summer camp “best of” lists, a testament to its exceptional programming.

Wendell: 

• The Town of Wendell’s camps are back with leadership-focused camps in June and sports-focused camps in July. There are also options scheduled to match with the year-round schools’ track-out weeks.
• Snapology is offering STEM camps throughout June and July in two locations with a variety of half-day or full-day choices. Snapology aims to provide learning opportunities disguised as pure fun - don’t tell the kids!

Zebulon:

• The Zebulon Rec Desk has daytime camps running Mondays thru Thursdays all summer long. Camp themes are for all ages, and all interests including music, science, and sports.
• For motivated young athletes, The Athletic Zone is the place to spend summer days. With flexible signups that include early drop-off, late-pickup, or single-day sessions, this Zebulon facility is the perfect addition to summer schedules.
